Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Faculty Finance Managers in operational financial management services across the faculty.
  • Provide support by managing the faculty’s research budgets
  • Provide guidance to staff and students on the faculty’s purchasing and staff expenses.
  • Support the Faculty Finance Managers with budget monitoring
  • Assist other finance team members as needed.

About you

  • have excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • have strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Power Automate.
  • have experience of reviewing how things work, making them better, and putting improved processes in place that people can follow.

Further information

This is a full-time role although part-time hours (0.8fte) will be considered for the right candidate. 

We operate a hybrid working model with a mix of on-campus and remote work.

Are you a proactive and creative marketing professional who enjoys working in a small, busy team? Then this could be the role for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support with the planning, developing and delivering of the Faculty of Engineering & Design’s multi-channel, integrated marketing activities. 

You’ll help create new content and deliver targeted campaigns that support strategic Faculty and University objectives. These include student recruitment, research reputation and international engagement. 

You'll be supporting and creating content for the website, social media, advertising campaigns and e-comms. You'll also be involved with virtual and in-person events that take place in the Faculty or wider University.

A focus of your role will be:

  • supporting UK and international student recruitment and marketing activity for UG and PGT
  • helping promote the Faculty’s research strategy

You’ll also contribute to strategic marketing planning by providing market insights, new ideas, and analysing trends that inform future portfolio development.

You’ll have experience producing and delivering marketing content across both online and offline channels, and be confident creating materials that engage different audiences.

You’ll also bring:

  • excellent copywriting skills
  • proven experience creating video and photo content for advertising
  • a strong track record of delivering results through varied content formats across channels such as web, social media, digital advertising, CRM, events and PR

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • experience in the higher education sector
  • a professional marketing qualification (such as CIM or equivalent)

Further information

The role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis from June 2026 to April 2027.

The Marketing and Web Team in the Faculty of Engineering & Design manages effective and timely communication about our diverse taught courses and research. We plan, deliver and measure campaigns across channels including web, social media, digital advertising, email, events and PR. Our work is targeted to audiences in the UK and internationally, helping the Faculty meet its strategic and commercial aims.
