We are a top 10 UK University recognised for internationally excellent research and our staff are a vital part of our vibrant and innovative community.

The finance business partner element of the role provides the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of the factors driving income and costs in the academic departments in the faculty and to support them with strategic planning and other ad-hoc projects. The other element of the role provides key knowledge and tools to the rest of the Management Accounting team and preparation of university wide statutory returns.

The role will include:

We are open to a part time (4 days per week) arrangement – please state your interest within your application form.

About you

You may be in a management accounting role already and looking to develop finance business partnering skills to become a key advisor. This role could also suit someone who enjoys working in a team, involvement with different activities, and the chance to develop and own practices and processes.

Our ideal candidate will:

 • Be a qualified accountant with experience or a curiosity about the Higher Education sector and how universities are funded
 • Have strong accounting skills including budgeting, forecasting and other reporting
 • Possess great communication skills at all levels
 • Have good excel skills and experience of using finance systems to an intermediate level such as designing reports
 • Be able to adapt to a changing environment

Experience in finance business partnering within a complex organisation is desirable, but we are open to development if you possess the soft skills required for the role.

<![CDATA[Executive Assistant & Project Officer (KK12806)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=KK12806 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=KK12806 About the role

Are you a highly organised individual who enjoys working at the heart of strategic programmes? Would you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative professional to work with the Executive Director of Innovation at the ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº.

The University is growing its innovation ambition—supporting new ideas, civic impact, and business engagement as part of a major strategic drive. This post combines the trusted, professional role of Executive Assistant with the dynamic challenge of project coordination across a portfolio of innovation initiatives—from helping grow our Innovation District in Bath city centre to supporting Strategic Partnerships and entrepreneurship.

You’ll be based at the University and have the opportunity to work closely with academic leaders, external partners, and operational teams.

In this role, you will:

 • Provide high-level executive support, including diary management, meeting preparation, and correspondence handling for the Executive Director of Innovation.
 • Coordinate and track progress on a portfolio of strategic innovation projects, ensuring smooth delivery and effective communication.
 • Draft briefings, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences, often at short notice.
 • Liaise with stakeholders across the University and beyond, including funders, civic partners, and business collaborators.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of a high-impact programme supporting the University’s long-term innovation strategy. If you’re driven, diplomatic, and detail-oriented—with an interest in supporting ideas that shape the future—this could be the perfect fit.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, works well under pressure, and enjoys supporting strategic leadership while keeping projects running smoothly. You don’t need to have worked in a university before—but you do need to be organised, proactive, and able to deal confidently with people at all levels.

About you

 • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep others on track.
 • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing briefings, reports, and high-quality correspondence.
 • Discretion, professionalism and judgement, especially when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
 • Confidence working independently, while also being a collaborative team member who builds positive relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
 • Experience supporting senior leaders or project teams, ideally in a fast-paced or complex organisation.
 • Comfort with digital tools and systems, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and document management platforms.

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

 • Can bring experience working on or supporting strategic programmes or innovation activity
 • Show enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a team focused on Innovation and partnerships

Essential qualifications or equivalent experience:

 • You should hold a good standard of education (e.g., A-levels or equivalent), ideally with evidence of further training or professional development in administration or project support.
 • Equivalent experience in a relevant administrative, executive assistant, or programme coordination role will also be considered.

We value diversity and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. If you're not sure whether you meet every requirement but are excited by this role, we’d still love to hear from you.

This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours), open ended basis. For an informal discussion about the role please contact either Jon Hunt (Executive Director of Innovation) via jh298@bath.ac.uk or Suzanne Maxwell (Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office) via s.j.maxwell@bath.ac.uk.

<![CDATA[Rankings and Accreditations Manager (AS12786)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=AS12786 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=AS12786 °Õ³ó±ð School of Management is seeking to appoint a Rankings & Accreditation Manager to oversee these vital areas of the School’s strategy. The role holder will work closely with the Dean and other members of the School’s Executive Board, is based inside the wider Dean’s Office and will lead a small, dedicated team of two Rankings & Accreditation Officers and a part-time Data Officer.

The School of Management (SoM) is one of four faculties in the ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº and benefits from being located on the edge of the UNESCO world-heritge City of Bath. As one of the UK’s leading Business Schools the SoM is located in an impressive new building with state-of-the art resources and offers the full range of academic courses: undergraduate (BSc); pre-experience master’s MSc); post-experience master’s (MBA); both research and professional doctoral qualifications (PhD and DBA); and, tailored executive education options for both individuals and organisations. The School of Management is consistently ranked among the best schools in the United Kingdom for undergraduate business education. For example, in the latest (2025) Complete University Guide, the School ranks 1st in Marketing (for the seventh year running), 2nd in Business and Management, and 2nd in Accounting and Finance. In addition, the School’s research ranked 7th nationally in the latest (2021) Research Excellence Framework. Accredited by both EQUIS and AMBA, and in progress for ACCSB accreditation, the School of Management is committed to delivering exceptional education and driving impactful research in the field of business management.

The role has two complementary parts:

 1. Working with the Dean and Director of Accreditations, the post holder will plan and project manage the School’s submissions to the main accreditation bodies. This will include the securing the School’s first AACSB accreditation and the renewal of our EQUIS and AMBA accreditations as well as programme-level accreditations such as ACCA, CFA etc.
 1. Working within the Dean, Associate Dean International and the School’s rankings’ group the post holder will: gather data and play a critical role in data submissions to rankings organisations; conduct in-depth analysis of the key rankings, monitor and critically analyse the School’s and competitors’ ranking performance and create timely reports based on these analyses.

Much of the data required by the rankings organisations is also required by the accreditation bodies so there is cross-over in the two areas of work. In fulfilling these functions, the post holder will foster and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the School of Management and with key personnel in the rankings and accreditation bodies.

This is an exciting, busy and varied role which requires the post-holder to have excellent communication, organisational and managerial skills. The role holder will also need to demonstrate strong analytical skills when collecting and presenting data in addition to those of project management.

The School of Management offers flexible, hybrid working where you can work from home for a couple of days a week. For an informal discussion, please contact the Head of the Dean’s Office, Jenny Armstrong on jra44@bath.ac.uk
