In this role you will:

  • assist within a teaching team and work within an established teaching programme under general supervision within the Department of Psychology.
  • manage and deliver teaching activities and prioritise your own workload within agreed objectives to ensure that all activities are completed to deadlines.
  • assess student progress and provide feedback to students, setting and marking assignments with appropriate supervision.
  • build on previous experience and use critical evaluation of professional practice to develop skills and knowledge.
  • communicate effectively with the teaching & learning team and show good team working.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • demonstrate appropriate subject knowledge and communication skills to effectively fulfil the required the teaching duties.
  • effectively plan and prioritise your own workload, including preparation of teaching materials.
  • effectively assess and mark student coursework and provide feedback.

The 四虎影院 is seeking to recruit a Lecturer to join the Department of Psychology to make a significant contribution to teaching across the UG and PGT programmes. 

Applicants will be required to provide additional support to our undergraduate and/or postgraduate taught programmes.

This role includes providing advice and support to students, acting as an Academic Advisor, and supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate student projects as well as undertaking teaching-related management and administration duties.

About the role

You will play a vital role, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department office and providing advice, support and information.

Key elements of the role include providing administrative and operational support to the Head of Department with the responsibility for co-ordinating core Department activities including HR and finance matters and providing full secretarial support for a number of department committees.

This varied and interesting post also includes co-ordinating recruitment and staff induction activity, support for Faculty based teams, departmental events, enquiry management, overview and allocation of Departmental space and management of operational relationships with Professional Services colleagues across the University.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week), fixed-term basis, expected to last until 21 August 2026.  

About you 

  • Be able to communicate persuasively and tactfully with colleagues.
  • Have an approachable and friendly style but with the willingness to challenge people and situations when necessary. 
  • Possess excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high workload.
