What is our University Data Hub?

The University is undertaking a strategic project to improve its Data & Insights capability enabling the right people to get access to information and insight at the right time, with the right quality. We are currently building a brand-new University Data Hub in the AWS cloud, completely replacing an old on-premises solution which will be retired. The production UDH will transform and integrate data from as many sources as required, including live operating data, key data snapshots, and external datasets. It will manage structured and unstructured datasets, perform analysis of incoming data quality to inform data governance work, act as a single source of the truth, and underpin all analytics activity. It will support reports and dashboards via the Data Marketplace, with advanced modelling and machine learning as internal capacity and capability allows.

What you will do

  • Develop ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, Kinesis, and Step Functions
  • Manage and optimise large-scale data lakes with S3, Athena, and Lake Formation
  • Implement robust data quality processes using Glue Data Quality and machine learning models
  • Design event-driven architectures with EventBridge and Lambda
  • Ensure data security through Macie, KMS, and advanced encryption frameworks

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a modern data infrastructure
  • Develop and scale governed comprehensive self-service data platform serving over 3,500 staff

The Chaplaincy Centre is located at the heart of the 四虎影院 campus. 

The Coordinating Faith Leader and team offer support, care, space and prayer to anyone in the university community. As an interfaith Chaplaincy we are keen to develop and foster good relationships across faith societies on campus to enable conversation, dialogue and learning. 

Whilst working with the Chaplaincy team, you will:

  • assist and help foster a working relationship between the Chaplaincy Centre and different faith groups, together with welcoming students of all faiths and none;
  • support the delivery of a weekly interfaith drop-in event, which will be held during term time with the help of the Chaplaincy team and Coordinating Faith Leader; and,
  • assist with the promotion of our chaplaincy and interfaith dialogue aims to the student body.

We are looking for a student who:

  • can organise their own workload;
  • can foster and maintain relationships across faith societies; and,
  • is committed to the aims of the interfaith chaplaincy and is comfortable working in an inclusive and interfaith environment.

This is a part-time role, working 4 hours per week for a fixed-term period from September 2026 until May 2027.

About the role

The role of Student Support and Safeguarding is to ensure that students, parents/guardians, and staff can readily access the advice, support and information, available, enabling them to fully benefit from their academic and broader experience.

Your primary focus will be working on our student facing, in-person helpdesk service and providing administrative support for the specialist teams within the department. This can mean a diverse workload which is often demanding and can include interacting with and supporting students and parents in distress. 

As a Senior Helpdesk Assistant, you will act as the first point of escalation and will be responsible for oversight of various admin tasks and projects. You will also play a key role in decision making and shaping new processes.

You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience of working in a service environment and comprehensive IT and organisational skills.

This is a part-time role offered at either 29.2 hours per week (0.8 FTE) or 21.9 hours per week (0.6 FTE). 

For the 0.6 FTE option, all three working days will be based on campus. For the 0.8 FTE option, the role will involve a combination of home working and time spent on campus at our main university site.

About You

You are comfortable working across back-end systems and integrations, and you understand how strong technical foundations, good documentation, and collaboration contribute to long-term service stability. 

You are motivated by solving real-world problems and enjoy working in an environment where your work has meaningful organisational impact.

You will bring:

  • A solid understanding of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
  • Strong understanding of API-led connectivity, data transformation, and integration patterns
  • A good understanding of SQL or equivalent data query languages, with experience of Oracle, MS SQL Server, or MySQL
  • Experience working with Finance, HR, or enterprise business systems, such as Agresso or similar platforms
  • Experience with integration and back-end development, including MuleSoft or similar platforms, along with integration and unit testing
  • Experience using Git and established Git workflows

Flexibility is required during peak periods (June–September), including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

About you

You will also be working directly with our users, supporting them to make the most of the University’s Copy and Print services. We’ll help you to develop your skills in a friendly working environment, with great colleagues.

About the role

This Senior Library Assistant role within the Acquisitions and Copy and Print is a varied one, working within the teams to achieve the smooth and efficient provision of library resources. You will be involved with searching and ordering items, invoicing and processing resources for end use. You will also be troubleshooting access issues, collecting data to inform purchasing decisions, and you will be integral in the acquisition of reading list material, working with the Library’s Reading List system. Finally, you will work with other team members to ensure the provision of a first-rate Copy and Print service to all users; underpinned by an excellent customer-focused approach.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in an involved library role on a permanent part-time basis, and should appeal to many with its short day semester-only structure.

About you

About the role

Within the Information Governance team, you will work alongside colleagues across Information Security, Research Policy, Governance & Integrity, and Records Management to help embed a strong culture of privacy and compliance.

Under the guidance of the Data Protection Officer, you'll act as the University’s operational point of contact on matters related to data protection. For example, you’ll help respond to Subject Access Requests, review Data Protection Impact Assessments, conduct breach analyses and respond to queries. You will also support the Data Protection Officer in responding to data protection incidents and ensure that our practices protect our community and uphold the University’s reputation.

Your communication skills will enable you to engage and advise colleagues on sensitive or high-risk issues relating to the Data Protection Act and UK GDPR. You will work well independently but also as part of the wider Information Governance team.

About you

You will:

  • have experience working as a data protection professional in a large or complex organisation
  • have a knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR and Data Use and Access Act legislation, with the confidence to interpret regulations and translate them into practical, proportionate actions for stakeholders

This role will be supporting the University’s CLEAR (Cloud-Enabling and Agresso Re-platforming) project which is a key University Strategic Project due to be delivered in February 2027.  The CLEAR project aims:

  • To ensure a fit for purpose, supported finance system with supplier Unit4
  • Reimagine how we use a finance system to optimise functionality (adopt not adapt)
  • Put in place the technology foundations to enable a finance system and other systems to migrate to the cloud
  •  Align with the University's Data & Insight reporting strategy of obtaining operational reporting from core systems.

The Digital Training Officer (Systems Implementation) will support the HR Lead (Strategic Change & Projects) to ensure staff and students are trained on the new Unit4 system in preparation for go live in February 2027. This role focuses on working with key stakeholders in the project to plan, create, co-ordinate and deliver clear and engaging training materials for diverse groups to help upskill/train staff in the new system.  

The post holder will be involved in activities such as:

  • Supporting the production, co-ordination and delivery of training for a Strategic Finance ERP project
  • Translate requirements into accessible learning resources
  • Working closely with subject matter experts, in Finance and Procurement to design and create appropriate training packages for staff - mainly for online and on demand training materials
  • Deliver clear and engaging training materials for diverse groups to help upskill/train staff in the new Finance system (Unit4)
  • Schedule training sessions and gather feedback to enable continuous improvement

The post holder will have:

  • Experience of scripting, recording and editing training packages using applications such as Clipchamp or CapCut
  • Experience of co-ordinating and implementing training for a new system across a large and diverse organisation
  • Experience of supporting and delivering training to upskill a diverse group of stakeholders for an ERP system implementation

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis with an expected duration of 6 months.

Its work spans population-level, cost-effective interventions at local, national and international levels, including flagship initiatives such as LHGP, which supports local government action on upstream and commercial determinants of health, and TCRG, an award-winning group whose research on the tobacco industry has shaped policy worldwide.

As the Executive Assistant, you will work with academics, researchers and professional colleagues to provide:

  • Executive support: Diary and travel management, meeting preparation, correspondence, and presentation support for C21PH senior leadership.
  • Project administration: Enquiry handling, governance support and meeting coordination across C21PH, LHGP and TCRG.
  • Finance and procurement Support monitoring budgets, expense claims and initiating procurement via Agresso.
  • Communicationssupport: Maintain presentations, web and digital content, branding, and staff/project profiles for C21PH.
  • Office operations: Manage meeting logistics, liaise with facilities, IT and estates to allow office maintenance, coordinate visitor hospitality, oversee security access and order office supplies.

Travel in the UK to research meetings will be required. 

The role is based on the Bath campus but hybrid working is available with a minimum of 3 days on campus per week.

This role is responsible for the administration of undergraduate funding awards which include the Bath Bursary, Gold Scholarship Programme and other philanthropic scholarships. You will be the lead administrator for all funding schemes and provides guidance and advice to applicants and current students.

The role requires significant technical skill in relation to the administration and continuing development of the University’s Fund Manager system as well as other parts of the student records database, in relation to student funding. The ability to liaise professionally with a wide variety of people is also essential, together with the ability to understand and interpret complex legislation and financial award frameworks.

As part of our reporting requirements to the Office for Students, you will lead on the evaluation, analysis and reporting of under-represented students supported by our bursary and scholarship awards. 

You will work independently and collaboratively as a part of the Scholarships and Bursaries Team to ensure outcomes and objectives are met in line with our Access and Participation Plan.

The seeks an experienced and successful project manager to co-ordinate and manage its programme of works. This £2M, 44-month programme, which is in its third year, has been funded by for the development of Research Technical Professionals (RTPs) across the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter (). This innovative programme goes beyond a simple staff development programme, focussing specifically interaction with industry partners, delivering bespoke training events, whilst also testing a model to establish a cohort of trainee RTPs across 四虎影院4.

You will work within an enthusiastic (and excited) team, and be key to coordinating this ambitious regional programme, with stakeholders including 10+ industry partners, other national research alliances, research funders and ~200 regional RTPs. You will be an experienced and demonstrably successful project or programme manager. A can-do attitude, with a dynamic and pragmatic approach to record keeping, project administration, and enabling outcomes (both yours and others) is essential, and we look forward to hearing from you.

About you

  • You will have a degree or postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience and qualifications, demonstrating the ability to work in an intellectually intensive people-orientated transdisciplinary environment
  • You will have experience of budget management and event management, working with a range of interested parties

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals, including recent school leavers, who are looking to take their first steps in a professional administrative career.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced position where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reception support – act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, dealing with enquiries in person, by phone, and by email in a professional and friendly manner.
  • General office administration – carry out tasks such as filing, photocopying, data entry, raising purchase requests, and organising meetings or events.
  • Student and staff support – help maintain accurate records, assist with teaching-related administration, and support staff with day-to-day tasks.
  • Events and activities – provide practical support for offer holder days, open days, inductions, and departmental events, ensuring a welcoming experience for all attendees.
  • Web and systems administration – assist with updating departmental web pages, online learning platforms, and the preparation of data and reports.

About you

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate would demonstrate these skills and behaviours

  • Good communication skills and a helpful, professional manner.
  • Prioritise effectively and manage competing deadlines
  • Work independently, using initiative to solve problems
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new systems and procedures

You’ll work closely with people from across the University to understand their needs, guide decision-making, and co-create solutions that are meaningful. As well as shaping how technology is applied, you’ll also help build our shared architecture standards — contributing to a consistent, scalable, and people-centred approach across our technology landscape.

We’re keen to hear from people bring both technical insight and a solid sense of purpose. You’ll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions using SaaS, PaaS, COTS, and customised applications
  • Hands-on experience with integration patterns, cloud architecture, data flow, and designing for security and resilience
  • Established capability of a broad technology landscape, including cloud-based services, off-the-shelf systems, and custom applications
  • A people-focused approach to technology — you’re as comfortable listening and engaging as you are designing
  • Applied knowledge of translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable architecture and effective solutions
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
